When you purchase a monument, the price includes the monument itself, the base, lettering, images, and installation. Fees not included in the purchase price consist of your monument’s concrete foundation, as well as any fees the cemetery may require (permit, authorization, or other). These fees may vary by province and cemetery.
Depending on the province and cemetery in question, applicable gravestone installation fees may apply. Perpetual care fees: Fees that are paid to the cemetery to ensure the maintenance of your family plots. These fees vary depending on the size of your gravestone. These fees are not applicable in Quebec. Work permit: Such fees may be required if the cemetery imposes an amount prior to the installation of a monument. These fees will help cover the cemetery’s administrative expenses. Other fees: Depending on the cemetery, other fees may apply, such as plot marking fees, or fees for interment rights related to a private columbarium.
